Growing up in Guernsey, Nebraska was hard for Becks, the white-trash daughter of an alcoholic, absentee mother. When Davlin came into her life, he gave what he could to her; his friendship and later his love. Scorned by the people of their hometown, Daviln and Becks marry young and go to college where their lives and future are altered forever.
