Pacifico A. Palumbo is a nationally known artist whose work has been displayed in galleries across New England and in New York. He got his start as an art director in New York City, then opened a popular neon gallery, called Say It In Neon, in the Village in 1978 through 2003. He has been an avid photographer for most of his life. After his parents passed, he began sifting through hundreds of boxes of photos of the people, places, and events from his early life. From these photo references, he created a series of paintings celebrating his childhood and youth in Park Slope's Italian community. Each painting is accompanied by a reminiscence that illuminates the flavor of his era and his extended family's neighborhood.
