Acres of Shadow is a collection of poetry that offers insight into the mind and spirit of an individual as they struggle to find meaning in life’s most difficult moments. This book is an effort to bring awareness to suicide prevention as well as bringing light to mental health issues that too often go untreated rather than being viewed as shameful or embarrassing. With real stories from my personal experiences, I hope to bring light to mental health as well as suicide prevention. While there are uplifting messages throughout, it will ultimately be a story about struggle for many readers, as some parts may be heartbreaking to read. Though these poems are categorized by humor, tragedy, and beauty, readers will undoubtedly find themselves cringing, laughing, and crying at different points throughout the book.
