Emerging from the Crucible: Enduring God’s Refining Fire

A stone-faced neurosurgeon entered the conference room and matter-of-factly delivered the news. With a few words, he shattered our hope. Fifty percent of children with medulloblastoma survived five years and of those, not all were tumor free. Faced with this grim prognosis, we began the fight for our daughter’s life. I longed for the encouragement of a survivor who lived fully after this devastating diagnosis.
