Animal Defender is a liberal-minded novel for those who oppose the world’s continuous mistreatment of all living creatures, or those who prefer the company of their own cat or dog over that of other Homo sapiens. The three-pronged storyline takes place in Friday Harbor, Washington, an eccentric island community where an unknown assailant seeks sinister retribution against people who are cruel to animals. Meanwhile, the life of a young free spirit and a wealthy recluse intertwine, altering their paths in ways they never expected.
