Big Pine, a town of 2,500 in north central Minnesota’s Larkin County, where the sparse population swells with fishermen in spring and summer, with hunters in fall, then shrinks under three feet of snow in winter-an unlikely incubator for the erotic revolution that sweeps up a group of long-married citizens as they approach retirement age. The story is narrated by Maddie Keller and Ed Olson, two of the participants in an adventure that tests marital boundaries, shreds old codes of sexual morality, and creates new rules for sexual and domestic partnerships.
