In the World, Not of the World: The Believer’s Relationship to the World

Although we believers live in the world, we must ever remember that we are NOT spiritually of the world. Through faith in our Savior Jesus Christ we are spiritually born from above as God’s own dear children. We are no longer the children of spiritual darkness. We are now the children of spiritual light. We have now been spiritually delivered from and chosen out of this present evil world. Therefore, we are no longer to conform our lives unto this world, but are to live for the Lord our God and Savior. Indeed, now we are to minister unto this world as the spiritual salt of the earth, as the spiritual light of the world, and as faithful witnesses of Christ’s glorious gospel. Such is the purpose of this book, to study the teaching of the New Testament Scriptures concerning the believer’s relationship toward this world, both positive and negative.
