It is clear that the final verdict has still not been pronounced on the authorship of this work. As we know from Alfredo Rodriguez Lopez-Vazquez, Gonzalo Fernandez de Oviedo could have been the author of Viaje de Turquia. This hypothesis may have been abandoned in the forthcoming years, but the fact remains that Rodriguez Lopez-Vazquez studied the Viaje de Turquia for many years. He also studied the presuming author of Lazarillo for many years and felt very strongly that Lazarillo had something to do with the author of Viaje de Turquia.
