This period covers the 85 years that brought liberty to the modern world. It started in 1603 with the persecution of the Separatists, the Puritans and the Scottish Covenanters by the Stewart kings. Each king was worse than the previous one. The first was James I, then Charles I, then Charles II, a lastly, James II. It ended with The Glorious Revolution in 1688.
