Allan Glen Elliott, who is best known as Curly, wrote The Life Story of a Farm Boy from Saskatchewan to carry out a longstanding Elliott family tradition of documenting one's life story to pass on to future generations. This book was first printed in 2016 to share with his immediate family. Due to the appreciation the book received, and interest from others requesting to read it, he made the decision to share it with you. The Life Story of a Farm Boy from Saskatchewan captures important moments in Canadian history. Starting from humble beginnings during the Great Depression in 1928, rural Saskatchewan, Curly illustrates what life was like for many Canadians living in the prairies cultivating the farmlands that feed our country. Throughout his adventurous life, we are taken through what it was like to serve as a young RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) officer in northern Alberta, the gradual pull towards life in the big city of Calgary, and a glimpse into the brotherhood of the Freemasons. From moments travelling alone through the blistering cold wilderness for days on RCMP duties, we experience surviving in conditions not for the faint of heart, through the value of building a family, community, and working together. This is a story of adventure, resilience, courage and pride that we can all take inspiration from.
