Each story is preceded by an introduction that explains the author's expectations for the story and what literary purposes he expected to meet with each story. The Author, A. J. Mittendorf, has taught English to high school and college students in both Canada and the United States. He has taught at private, Christian schools as well as secular institutions. He has also published poetry and articles in Christian and secular magazines across North America.
