Many may ask why a journal like this is important, well for me it is simple. As I travel to various schools, teach in higher education, provide services to children and families as a social worker, a pastor in a community church, and communicate with various daughters throughout the country I sense the trauma of fatherlessness. Being a man who grew up without his father due to cancer, I am sensitive to this trauma. Life without a father is harder than I can articulate and as complexed as one can explain. I have found peace in writing out my experience, which is my purpose for providing this journal.
