This book is basically an account based on real events of a grown man who is on the Autism spectrum. It chronicles the challenges he faces in moving his way through his professional life, and what it means to be diagnosed in his forties. It is autobiographical, based on myself as I am on the spectrum, and set primarily in Delaware and the nearby tri-state area in the eastern mid-atlantic part of the U.S. One can get a realistic account of how he handles things and how others handle him. This work is an extraordinary tale from the standpoint of someone who is out there making his way and on the Autism spectrum himself. There are details of many things that somehow was experienced in real life. Many people on the Autism spectrum are married and even produce or care for children. When you read it, you know the writer could not have made up those situations. You have a boss/supervisor in the beginning who expresses a lot of "ableism" herself, meaning she is hostile toward people with disabilities, or people who are on the spectrum, and the consequences are detailed with events that followed, with people who are more understanding later on. It also shows what you can accomplish in spite of everything.
