I believe that poetry is (wonderfully) so much more than what we've come to know it as. It calls out, makes comments on, draws attention to the things in life which cause us to stop in our wandering tracks and smell the roses. And I think we need that. In a world constantly bombarded by the disheartening and the heart-breaking running rampart through our blue-light screens, the simple act of stopping and noticing the romance of a moment is an act which may just (daringly) save our sanity.
In this debut book by Zara Moore, 'Of Love and Lilac' presents an honest yet whimsical reflection on the natural ups and downs of life, love, and glory. Written in the everyday rhythms of life, this volume explores trauma and loss, love and light in a compendium woven with a thread of unashamed hope.
