A Perfect Day for Maggie Mae is an imaginative story about Maggie Mae the pygmy goat. The narrative is as if a child is asking Maggie Mae to come out and play. But Maggie Mae is reluctant to play on any given day, as the weather is never acceptable. By the end of the short tale, the child is able to convince Maggie to join her in play.
