Dayla Evans has suffered the loss of her son, and then her husband. Her Christian faith and support from her church, family, and friends help to ease her emotional pain but her life has become a rigid routine as she immerses herself in her job teaching hearing impaired students. Although she is content living alone, she misses the companionship of someone to share her love for hiking. Unbeknownst to Dayla, when she is pressured to attend her co-worker’s end-of-the-school-year celebration, it is the beginning of something remarkable. Dayla meets Kent, another outdoor enthusiast, at the party. Eventually, the two plan a week-long Autumn backpacking trip in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park of Tennessee. Unforeseen circumstances interfere with their plans. Dayla’s faith gives her the courage and determination to proceed with the backpack trip, but something terrifying happens along the way. The events that coincide, confirm her belief that, although we may not have control of all that happens in life, we are given free-will to make choices in whatever good, or bad, comes our way. No Accidents is the story of coinciding events during an adventure in the beautiful Smoky Mountains, and how one woman, and one man, develop a heightened awareness of the meaningful messages God sends. It encourages the reader to pay attention to situations and coinciding events that arise in our own lives and to appreciate that, if we are open to it, God will provide the guidance for making choices that leads to something wonderful.
