The 1930’s reissue electrical recording of Rhapsody in Blue was created in 1927 on April 21st, the same day Prince aka The Artist, my inspiration, passed a few days after I finished Primrose. This was right before the Pink Moon similar to his movie, Under The Cherry Moon . This is the same day as Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday in 1926. The Victrola Rhapsody in Blue version was recorded was in 1924 on June 10th, the same day as King Phillip’s birthday in 1921. Rhapsody in Blue was written on a train going to Boston, MA and was released in 1924 on February 12th, Abe Lincoln’s birthday, the same day I began my Amelia painting, per the request of a bandleader after he saw him improvise with Canadian singer, Eva Gauthier in New York City on November 1, 1923.
