On her first day of residency at a Houston, Texas hospital, Dr. Mary Dupont stumbles through the door and spills the contents of her purse across the floor. Sparks fly when Ronald Newsome, an ex-Navy SEAL and security guard, kneels to help her retrieve her belongings. Their first encounter ignites a love affair of steamy days and nights stretching from Texas to the Virgin Islands. Her rich, snobbish mother tries to end their romance, but bigger issues take over when Mary is diagnosed with a rare, fatal motor neuron disease. As she seeks a cure, she meets a brilliant doctor in the Virgin Islands who also has the disease.
