Sydney is a handsome and colorful parrot who loves being the center of attention. Not only is he one of the best-looking birds in the aviary, but he is also a big talker. However, everything changes one day after lightning strikes the grass outside the aviary, starts a big fire, and forces the firefighters to slash the netting to let the birds escape the flames and fly to safety. When Sydney is separated from the other birds, he is left frightened and alone in a tree in the suburbs, until a loving human family decides to rescue him. As the years pass, the children eventually move away and the parents become too old to care for Sydney. When he is adopted by a young man, Sydney lives a happy life despite longing for his freedom in the wild. But one night while outside, Sydney becomes startled and flies away. Will he ever find his way back home to the young man or is his true home in the trees with old friends? In this heartwarming tale, family, companionship, and love converge for a colorful, talking parrot who longs to be free in the wild with his beloved bird friends.
