The book opens with the assassination attempt of Steve Alden, a smart, successful and driven man. Through the eyes of Steve's wife, Barbara, we learn about the ladies at the ultra posh Upper Brookville Country Club; where they shopped, what they wore, their secrets, and where they sat at the clubs formal dinner dances was very important.
