PJ es un nino que vive con su familia en la ciudad. A el y a sus amigos les gusta jugar beisbol callejero. Pero en su vecindario, vive un viejo gato Tom malo. El gato se agacha en los callejones y las cunetas, buscando algo que agarrar con sus viejas y sucias garras. !A veces el gato Tom incluso persigue a los bates, pelotas y guantes de los ninos!

Un dia, mientras esta sentado en los escalones frente a su casa, PJ ve un raton pequeno, asustado y herido, con el gato Tom persiguiendolo. Aunque PJ le tiene miedo al gato, rescata al raton y lo cuida hasta que recupere la salud. Una vez que el raton esta mejor, PJ lo libera afuera y recibe una gran sorpresa sobre el pequeno raton, uno que cambia la forma en que ve el mundo.
