Victor Ekworomadu's book, African Village Man Kills Lion With a Pencil, is about one man's journey from a small village in Nigeria, Africa, where he learned important lessons from his parents which shaped him into the man he is today. Victor's coming of age story is appealing to young adults and adults alike, and is one of hope, perseverance, and humor. As his story unfolds, you see him become the embodiment of what his parents wished for him to be. Through his service to the community he becomes a role model in this new "village" in America that he created for himself. Taking the wisdom from his past and applying it to his life; Victor's leadership, sensibility, peacemaking, and overcoming setbacks is what has allowed him to make positive changes to his community and workplace. He is beloved by all who know him and his story is one that needed to be told.

From the small village in Africa, Victor reached a large dental practice of 9 professional dentists known all over the world. Victor's leadership and creativity in the practice has led to him establishing a major charity called "Hope and Love" which has made a great impact in helping those in need in the greater Atlanta area.

Recently, he conceived and planned a historic reunion for beloved former employees of the dental practice. These former staff members have moved far and wide but so many of them returned for a day of reconnection and celebration.

The office "Employee of the Year" award went to Victor each of the first several years he joined the practice of 45 people. In fact, the staff and doctors felt Victor would win the award every year going forward. A plan was made to name this cherished award, "The Victor Award" and it was dedicated at an annual office celebration by Spelman University President, Dr. Johnetta Cole.
