Ben Stein and Sam Weiss were childhood friends who both went to Stanford. Sam became an Electrical Engineer and Ben an MD and Neurosurgeon. Sam loved to explore caves and one day came upon a Vortex in a cave near San Jose that turned out to be a portal beck to May 1919. Sam convinced Ben to go with him into the cave to see it and they decided to go through the Vortex for a trip into the past. The adventure that follows when these two friends and their girlfriends Becky and Rebecca go back to 1919 and prevent Adolf Hitler from coming to power turns the World and their lives upside down!
