Cries for "Help!" A spooky old mansion, a mysterious woman dressed in black, beckoning to come closer. This is the backdrop in which cousins Tessa and Jake work together to save children held captive in cages behind the McFog Mansion. Tessa, confined to a wheelchair, solves the mystery. In the end she gains confidence and finds the independence she's been seeking. Konnie Meyer and Karen Weick are sisters, who for many years enjoyed exchanging book ideas over coffee. Both are former educators, currently calling the small, rural community of Hamler, Ohio home. Each is the parent of three grown children and a proud grandparent. With a mother who was a librarian, and a father who dabbled in poetry, they grew up with a love for reading and writing. Through their storytelling, they hope to inspire young readers to develop the same passion for books.
