Up the River follows two best friend kayakers as they strive to save a kidnapped girl after finding her soaked journal in a wilderness river rapids. This story was a contest quarter finalist in the ScreenCraft 2017 Cinematic Short Story Contest (1,400 entries). That means it is screenplay worthy material. Well, hello Hollywood. The Up the River script earned quarter-finalist status in the 2018 Los Angeles International Screenplay Award (2,500 entries). That, plus Consider coverage reports, ranks Up the River in the top three-percent of all scripts written. The anthology of short stories pays homage to Hitchcock twist endings with an ample dose of humor. Up the River - And 82 Selected Short Stories is Wayne’s second book, following on the heels of Barnstorm - A Novel. As the title might suggest, Page enjoys the short story genre. The love of short stories came from leading creative writing classes at the University of Cincinnati OLLI adult education program (Curing the Blank Page). He has authored six screenplays reaping their share of Hollywood rejection letters. He has written two musicals and two Ten Minute Dramas. Page is represented by the Silver Bitela Agency.
