The story began with the hideous murder of a young girl in rural Alabama. The lead Character Roland is a no non-sense Sheriff and sees this as more than just a single murder. The local police in the lazy southern town are far from up and up. Roland is old fashion and peruses this murder investigation vigorously. He finds corruption at all levels of government, local, state and federal as in Senators. Meth distribution was the hitch pin that tied many suspects together and the cover up of a previous girl murdered of similar circumstances added up to a serial killer. Roland fights constantly while officials are trying to shut down his investigation. He finally gets the breakthrough he needed. It is then his adversaries find it necessary to take Roland out of the picture. Little did they know they were not prepared for Roland and his wit.

Greg Powell has gone through life with his eyes wide open. In his youth, he was thrust upon the stage in first grade. He danced the twist for an audience of school mates. People appeared to be joyful at this display. Latter in life he acted in plays by, Neil Simon, Bertolt Brecht and various other known playwrights. He worked in the food industry for more than forty years, but his passion was always writing. In November of 2011 Greg had a heart attack taking him out of the stressful food industry. This was when Greg picked up the pen again. Fiction and fantasy are his love.
