Little Bambanani’s Really Big Thought is a humorous adventure story set to rhyme. Bambanani is a just a little boy, but he has a really big message. The only problem is that the people of his tiny island do not get along. After observing how ants and bees work together for the good of their colonies, this determined little boy decides to proclaim this same message of unity within his own human colony. It won’t be easy, especially for a small boy. But, with a lot of determination, the blessing of his wise, old friend, Abidan, a little help from a giant wave and a twenty-foot long beard…he just might succeed. Currently, the world is an extremely divided place and people feel helpless to change things. Children sense this will and are likely grow up thinking they are too insignificant to bring about real change. The story of Bambanani encourages the child in all of us to:
Have a positive vision for your world, no matter how small you may be. Exercise the courage and conviction to live this vision in the face of criticism. Accept people for who they are. Know that everyone has something to share. Believe that we can work together for a better world in spite of our differences.
