PALAAYANAM has the stories of personnel who work outside their hometown either abroad or in other states for a lifetime, shouldering all the responsibilities of their family. They set aside their wishes of living with their inmates in their hometown. However, due to the need for continuous support for their families, they are compelled to live away forever. At the end of their lives, they get carried in a coffin and are cremated in their native place without the fulfillment of their wishes.

This book also tells a love story. This book has no boundaries. While reading it, you will find the characters in this book to be similar to characters in popular books by popular writers like Parappuram, Nandanar, S. K. Potakad and M. T. Vasudevan Nair.
