At the same time, Rob Wilson, frontman for the underground grunge band ‘Treetop Rant’ settles on West Virginia as his escape destination from an anything-but-boring life in the rock music world and becomes obsessed with buying the property. Simply establishing ownership and developing the property proves to be difficult for whoever wins the battle. They face obstacles and hurdles that range from locating the various wills, deeds and other legal instruments relating to the land; to surveying and environmental testing; to rebuilding a washed-out access bridge and infrastructure for such basic services as roads, water, sewage, and power. Not to mention, there is also an armed hillbilly claiming squatter’s rights. Although the mutual attraction is undeniable from their first brief meeting, the same fate that keeps throwing them together physically seems determined to keep them from connecting romantically.
