When Clint Adams rides into Temple City, Texas, it’s obvious to him from the opulent decorations that the town takes its 4th of July celebration very seriously. But when he discovers that there is a gang who has come to town each of the last four Independence Days to kidnap local children, he takes it upon himself to try and keep it from happening a fifth time. However, when he fails, children are kidnapped, and he must now track them down to the gang’s destination and keep them from being sold into slavery. With the help of Kit Boone, Daniel Boone’s great-grandson, he must try to stop the gang while being hopelessly outnumbered. It becomes a deadly game of cat-and-mouse during which he and Boone must keep themselves alive as well as the captive children.
