Justice in Ruins: An Innocence Novel

Teenagers are capable of anything. And when drugs and alcohol are mixed in, anything is possible…imaginable or unimaginable. When the local high school football coach goes missing, the police are quick to blame the new kid in town and the only African American teen involved. Unconvinced of the teen’s guilt, a local convenient store owner, whom everyone refers to as Granny, summons home her attorney granddaughter to prove the teen’s innocence. But the powers that be in the sleepy Southern town appear to believe that justice is served when the government wins…and will preserve the young man’s conviction at all costs. Justice in Ruins is the story of one lawyer’s quest to prove the innocence of a 15-year-old African American and free him from a justice system that conveniently treats children as adults.
