Jesse’s short stories, poems, and prose first is Trees, which speaks of the growth of man and woman as they pass through the good and evil of life as witnessed by Father Time. Second is Reflections (Of Black Folks), old stories told by our grandfathers and mothers with the hope that our sons and daughters are listening with the understanding that the past will always affect the future of us all. Third is Cypriana (The Fourth Daughter). It tells of an old warrior who unknowingly brought the darkness of evil down upon his youngest granddaughter. The last is Mumbolingus, the son of the king who, by his father’s wishes, has chosen a bride that will end a hundred-year-old war, but the shadows of evil threatens to come between them as told by the old storyteller.
