Ever since the Harvey Weinstein story broke, the headlines have been filled with one case after another of sexual harassment and assault by men in power who take advantage of ambitious and innocent women. But it is not only women who suffer. To emphasize the point that anyone can be hurt by sexual abuse in the workplace, THE DEVIANT turns the Weinstein story around. Instead of the abuser being a man, it is a woman, and she victimizes young men who work for her. The male victims in the book are no less traumatized than the real-life female victims of Weinstein and all the other abusive male celebrities we’ve read about. But how can these victims get anyone to believe they’ve been abused? They can’t. Instead, they band together and form a plan to that will bring about the justice they crave - if it works.
