Jake Mackay Junior, known to all as J.J., is reeling from a series of events that completely change his life. His mother left home, his father has a new girlfriend named Sonia, and he is being tormented at school by a group of bullies known as the Shark Gang. J.J. is glad when school starts in September, though he is a loner with no one to talk to. Things begin to look up when he gets involved with school activities, begins bonding with his father over swimming, and starts to build a relationship with Sonia. But the Shark Gang continues to circle him and they won’t stop until something drastic happens…
