A CRY FROM TOMORROW is a richly detailed manuscript that probes issues of American Indian medicine and resulting ceremonies, time travel, deep love interests and spirituality. Early in the story, young Wendy is tortured by nightmares in which a strange man’s voice calls out to her, encouraging her to find him. Although Wendy shares her concern with her cousin and roommate Julie, the ebullient younger woman is quick to encourage Wendy to pursue a real-life romance instead of worrying about the one calling to her in her head. The stress of a relationship, combined with recurring nightmares, pushes Wendy to the verge of a nervous breakdown. She decides to take a break from her life and drives from her California home and ends up in the Arizona desert in dire trouble, having run out of gas and leaving her vulnerable to harsh elements. Again, she is confused since she believes she has been led to this end by an eagle. Lost and alone, Wendy sets out on foot to find help, which consequently comes to her in the form of an old Indian shaman.
