It was the summer of 2008 and I was relaxing on the patio when I noticed an orange cat lying in the garden. At the time I already had two cats so I did not want another one. After a couple of days of chasing the cat out of the yard, I noticed it was getting skinny. Against my better judgement I gave it some food and water. As we all know, once you feed a stray cat, it is yours. Thinking the cat was a female my husband and I decided that we better take it to the vet to make sure that it was healthy and could not produce offspring. Much to our surprise, the vet told us the cat was a male. We checked for a microchip but there wasn’t one. We decided the cat that we named Rocky could stay as an outside cat. My husband built a small house that we insulated and added a heating pad to help keep him warm. It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with this little guy. He was so cute, soft and loveable that I could not resist! The rest is pretty much outlined in the book as told from Rocky’s point of view.
