This historical novel tells the stories of three men and a brave woman. The stories cover their experiences prior to, during, and after World War II. Two of the men began their lives in Prussia. They both served in the German Army. One ended the war in a Russian POW camp. The other was taken prisoner in North Africa and was in a POW camp in Oklahoma at the end of the war. The third man was a Yugoslavian national who flew supply missions to the Yugoslavian resistance out of Cairo. The woman, an ethnic German, was born in Poland. She made what the Germans call the Trek from Prussia to the West with an infant daughter. Their stories were related to the author in bits and pieces over the years.
