Inheritance

Talia Bloch’s Inheritance is a collection of lyric poems that explore questions of identity and love in the shadow of family and history. Bloch’s poems invite the reader to listen in as a young woman moves about her home and the streets in which she lives contemplating the contours of relationships and loss, marriage, childhood, and the past.

There is a beautiful music in Talia Bloch’s work, the kind that both hurts and consoles, writes poet Ilya Kaminsky (author of Deaf Republic) and poet Elizabeth Spires (author of A Memory of the Future) calls Inheritance one of the best first books I have read in recent years.
