Sessions with Ezekiel is a ten-session study unit designed to explore the story of a people in exile who are seeking purpose and meaning. Each session is followed by a thought-provoking page of questions that allow for a deeper experience of the scriptural passages. These resource pages can be used by seminar leaders during preparation and group discussion, as well as in individual Bible study.
Ezekiel is one of the stranger books of the Bible. It's filled with images of fantastical beasts, bizarre prophetic acts, and seemingly judgmental diatribes. The prophet Ezekiel shows the people that the purpose they seek is found in a deeper and more abiding relationship with their holy God, who has neither left them nor forsaken them in their exile. As we enter the world of Ezekiel, we also find resonance with our own sense of exile in life, our own pursuit of meaning for our souls, and the holy God who walks with us every step of the way.
