TOURISM TRENDS:

The COVID-19 pandemic caused a steep drop-off in tourism to many destinations in 2020 and 2021, but travel to Iceland from the U.S. has now fully reopened, and all Covid-related travel restrictions (including vaccinations, testing, pre-registration, and quaratines) have been lifted. The number of Americans traveling is expected to return to prepandemic levels by 2023.
Experts predict around 1.3 million visitors to Iceland in 2022 and 1.5 million in 2023.

As of May 2022, revenue from non-Icelandic tourists to Iceland has increased by 337% in the last 12 months when compared with the same period the year before, from 56.8 billion ISK to 248.2 billion ISK.
