‘This book is phenomenally important!! I love it. It will help your children talk to you about the impact of device use in your house. Highly recommended. – Dr Danielle Einstein, clinical psychologist, author of The Dip

I Am Important! was written with a whole lot of love and non-judgement by a parent who sometimes uses digital devices to excess, and needs to be reminded to look up from time to time.

It was written to help children know that they matter in this age of digital devices, where the average person checks their phone 80 times a day.

It was written to help children know that they are not alone in feeling unimportant, because nearly one-third of children feel this way when their parents are using smartphones.

The story is about a girl called Katie, who thinks she’s not important because her parents are often busy or distracted on their digital devices. Then she meets Hairy Thought-Buster, a Superhero for young minds, who busts her negative thought before it becomes a negative belief!

He tells Katie the truth of her being - that she really is important - and gives her an alternative explanation as to why her parents are not always paying attention to her. And now Katie has an important job to do….

Children love this beautifully illustrated book, which contains a little bit of humor, a little bit of rhyme and a cute little orange Fluffy character hiding on each page!

Children will identify and learn through the power of story. No shame, no guilt, no judgment about phone usage.
Bonus discussion questions, for powerful family conversations! Most suitable for children aged 4-8.
