Paul took one more look at the door, shrugged, then closed it and walked away.
Jessica let out a huge sigh of relief. She had never been so scared in her life. She knew if Paul had found her, it would be all over for her. Her legs felt weak. She slowly slid down the wall and sat on the floor. She was shaking so badly she had to take a couple of deep breaths before she could even move to push herself back to a standing position. She wasn’t sure she would even be able to walk without holding on to something. She waited until she was sure she could open the closet door and walk out of the house without making any noise.
