This is the story of Jim Barnes, the son of a prominent rancher near Gainesville, Texas, who, upon returning home through the Indian Territory after having served in the Civil War as a Confederate officer, finds himself involved with robbers, renegades, and the Texas Rangers where he determines to bring to justice the ruthless Bart Slater Gang, who have terrorized North Texas with a string of kidnappings and bank and stagecoach robberies.
