Brillar killed one of the Savic, the Red Sisterhood, who animate the dead with their spells. Now they want her killed -- or better yet...

Their exploration has spanned the Wild then led them into the southern lands, where they find that the use of magic has been prohibited. Despite that, no one questions the aid of a skilled healer, at least not at first.

When they hear of a city where a plague is raging and are rebuffed at the gate, Brillar disguises herself as an elderly healer. Over Elden's objections, she enters the city alone, a city of the dead and dying where magic is forbidden but must be used if there is to be any hope for victims of the epidemic.
