TEMPO is a collection of poetry about people, places and seasons where memory and longing unite in love and our dreams together in time. The pieces presented here are an invitation into a world of myriad landscapes and their unique songs of darkness, light, stillness and flow.

These poems are music to our ears and words to our hearts. Inspired by the voice of the balladeer, Coppola shows us surprising vistas from which we feel the magnifying presence of nature. She leads us down secret lanes into the whispers of woods, and through seasons, where we find many of our own mysteries unfold and come to light.

Lucia Coppola's poetic (and sometimes prose) voice alternates the matter-of-fact with lyrical description. She beautifully balances the interplay between poetry and prose, and this form reflects her content, which weaves themes of the natural world, relationships, and daily human experience. Coppola is a dancer and her writing embodies that physical and kinesthetic sensibility.
