How Rich Are You?
A wealthy man offered a thousand rupees to a poor dervish ( a holy man).
The dervish asked the rich man, "You are giving me a thousand rupees. How much do you have for yourself"?
"Many many thousands of rupees", was the answer
"Do you still hanker after more"?
"Surely yes! Answered the rich man
"Then I cannot accept your offering", said the dervish. "For a rich man must not receive one poorer then he"!
"I do not understand," said the rich man.
The dervish explained, " Though I have nothing I desire nothing! You have plenty; and yet desire much more! Surely, the man who desires is poorer than the man who is content with what he has"!
