Marvin and the Big Race

Marvin considers himself a very fast runner, perhaps the fastest in the school. So, when Principal Duckworth calls for a school race, Marvin plans to be the first at the finish line. But when the race begins and all the kids take off, something happens that changes Marvin forever. Unique to all the Magic Mommy Stories, Marvin and the Big Race begins with a tribute to motherhood and ends with a twist. The final thought encourages children to see how good it feels to help other kids, especially those who live with challenges.

The story of Marvin and the Big Race is enjoyable and simple, but with an adult-sized reminder of what matters - initiative to serve, coupled with a big dose of humility. I expect to see copies of Marvin’s stories throughout our children’s hospital!
