Hanan Habibzai is a well-known Afghan-British journalist who fled from Afghanistan in 2008. In 2011, he finished his education at Coventry University in the United Kingdom with a master’s degree in Global Journalism. For over ten years, he reported from Afghanistan for BBC and Reuters (2002 to 2009). One of his notable assignments was to cover the invasion of Afghanistan and the fall of the Taliban regime in 2001 for international media. He also worked for Radio Free Europe from 2009 up until 2013 as a correspondent in London. He spent most of his life as a refugee, once migrated at a young age to Pakistan due to the Soviet invasion in Afghanistan and to the UK caused by the US-led invasion, for the second time. When he worked as a journalist, he visited different regions of Afghanistan and observed widespread hunger and misery of the Afghan people, especially women and children.

Back in 2016, Hanan Habibzai founded Helping Orphans, a registered UK charity. He voluntarily managed and directed the organization knowing that serving humanity is a passion for him. His charity provides sustainable development projects to the families of orphans and vulnerable people in Afghanistan which he looks forward to becoming self-reliant.
