Lonely walks on Sunday evenings. Coming home after three and a half years. Photographs in school uniforms. The emptiness in the aftermath of finishing an ice cream tub. Hot showers and cold coffees. Being unable to sleep after finishing a rom-com. Tight hugs in oversized sweatshirts. Bathroom thoughts. Memories no one else remembers because you’re always the only one who has trouble letting go.
This book is about moments like these and the feelings that they carry. It’s as raw as a long Instagram text sent to someone at 2 am written out of pure helplessness. This is my book of emotions that always found their way to the last page of a Grade XII textbook or the Notes app with a black background. This book is a journal made from six years spent at a boarding school. It’s a memoir. A bittersweet attachment that couldn’t be broken. This book is a compilation of all that I have ever carried within myself.
About the Author: Udit Singh is a simple writer who finds comfort in things that feel like home. He lives in a small town in the middle of nowhere and loves drinking coffee while sitting in baggy pyjamas. He has spent a lifetime romanticizing moments of friendship, food, movies, music, and his own feelings. He feels the most like himself while using specific phrases in repetition like- in that moment or feels so real . His favourite and the most meaningful act in the world will always always be the one of simply feeling.
