In The Lieutenant’s Wife we were introduced to the Tuckers and the Turners as they came together and not only cleared the reputation of a Turner ancestor but found a connection between the two families.

Liam Granger has come to Mackinaw City to find the truth about the theft of gold in 1778 as well as his true ancestry. Claiming to be an ancestor of Reginald Benton Willingham, III, Liam sets out to prove the Commandant was not the only one stealing the fort’s payroll, convinced Ian was also reaping the rewards in his role as Paymaster. Ian’s wife, Abigail, comes under scrutiny as well when Liam claims she had an affair with the Commandant and bore his child.

Jeff Turner, Ian’s great-great-great grandson, now faces the task of once again clearing Ian’s name; but he won’t have to face it alone. Claire and Grady Tucker, instrumental in clearing the lieutenant’s name the first time, wade right in.
